These days, Tony Blair blithely states that he went into Iraq simply because “it felt good, baby”, but back then it was a different story. His overwhelming fear then was one of nuclear ballistic robots, and the very real possibility that Saddam might already have possessed such nightmare tech in an imagined future reality.
During one particularly vivid and sweaty dream, Blair unknowingly gave an entire speech to the commons that would rouse every man jack of them to action. The recording of that historic speech finally has a home here…
Mere moments later, the damage already done, Blair was to wake and give the speech he had originally intended…
It makes one weep to think how different the world could have been.
Never look back.
